Vaiphei Officers’ Forum Bye-Laws Inauguration Programme Venue: Synod Hall Date: 15th May 2025 Time: 1:00 PM BRIEF REPORT The Vaiphei Officers’ Forum (VOF) successfully conducted its Bye-Laws Inauguration Programme on the 15th of May, 2025 at Synod Hall, Churachandpur. The programme was gracefully compered by Mr. Hs Kaiminlun, Assistant Professor, with Miss Hohoi Vaiphei Jr. MCS serving as the rapporteur. The event began with an opening prayer led by Rev. Liante, Executive Secretary of the Revival Church of God (RCG), seeking divine guidance and blessings. Dr. Lamzolian Suantak delivered the welcome address, extending a warm welcome to the Chief Guest of the event, Pu LM Khaute, Hon’ble MLA of 58/Churachandpur A/C (ST), as well as to all respected members of the Vaiphei Officers’ Forum, church leaders, and distinguished invitees from various denominations, including Tangphai Provisional Synod, Khuga Sadar Presbytery, Revival Church of God, Vaiphei Baptist Church, and Evangelical Organization Church (EOC). He urged all attendees to remain present until the end of the programme to make it meaningful. Throughout the event, beautiful gospel and patriotic songs presented by Vaiphei singers brought inspiration and uplifted the spirits of the audience.

Pu Lunneikhup Vaiphei, Chairman of the Bye-laws Drafting Committee, presented a brief report on the formation and completion of the Bye-laws. He shared that the drafting process took nearly seven months and was aimed at maintaining clarity and simplicity to avoid ambiguity. He extended gratitude to the Chairman of VOF and all committee members for their cooperation in completing this milestone.
Following the official inauguration of the Bye-laws, a dedication prayer was offered by Rev. N. Neihsial, Executive Secretary of the Tangphai Presbyterian Provisional Church Synod, blessing the future of the Forum and its mission. Pu Pauchungnung Vaiphei, Chairman of VOF, began his address with a reading from Psalm 133:1-2: “1. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! 2. It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments.” He emphasized that the vision of VOF’s founding members is rooted in unity and love, and encouraged officers within the Vaiphei community to be united and act as role models to guide the younger generation toward leadership. He summarized key initiatives since July 2024, which include: 1. Designing the official VOF logo (now incorporated in the Bye-laws) 2. Creating the official letterhead of VOF 3. Sponsoring six young Vaiphei aspirants for competitive exams 4. Inauguration of the Bye-laws 5. Launch of the PEN (Promoting Education Network) Project — a proposed Librarycum-VOF Office He also acknowledged the foundational role of Church leaders in Vaiphei society and stressed the importance of their presence.
Citing the Vaiphei’s legacy as the first Christian converts in Manipur South, he reaffirmed the priorities of faith and education. Additionally, he emphasized the need for effective political representation and invited several former and current leaders to lend their support to the Forum’s mission. Chief Guest Pu LM Khaute, former DGP of Manipur and former VOF Chairman, now serving as MLA of 58/Churachandpur A/C (ST), highlighted the essential role played by VOF in the Vaiphei society.
He praised the Forum’s commendable community services during his tenure and noted the visible progress achieved under the dynamic leadership of the present Chairman, Pu Pauchungnung Vaiphei, Associate Professor at Churachandpur College. He expresses his willingness to support and assist the PEN project of VOF and work for the materialisation of it. He also expresses his satisfaction to know that VOF sponsored Vaiphei Students who are from underprivileged backgrounds to join a competitive coaching institution. He concluded with best wishes for the continued success of VOF. Dr. Seanbawi, Deputy Medical Superintendent of District Hospital, Churachandpur, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and attendees for making the event meaningful and impactful through their presence. The programme concluded with a word of blessing and benediction prayer by Rev. Khupbawi Vaiphei, Executive Director of the Evangelical Organization Church (EOC), sealing the occasion with hope and grace
